Noble 600 Bar & Restaurant
Established in 1885

The Ashburton Club and MSA were established in the Ashburton Arcade in 1885 as a gentleman’s club, eventually moving to its current location in 1920.

During the prohibition in the early 1900s, the Ashburton Club was one of the few places legally allowed to continue to sell alcohol, as they were listed as a Working Men’s Club and not a bar.

The name Noble 600 is a nod to the new modern restaurant and the 600 founding MSA members from the 1800s.

Infusion of Flavour
Our Story

The new restaurant opened in June 2021 after significant renovations and was taken over by Ashburton restauranteurs, Tony Potts and Wendy Ritchie in December 2021.

The striking new building and the elegant restaurant offer Ashburton a unique dining experience, an upmarket bar as well an exclusive private event and conference space. Tony and Wendy have created a welcoming, luxurious and intimate space that both supports and caters to the locals.

Local produce is sourced throughout the district where possible and is used exclusively throughout the restaurant and bar.

Tony, Wendy and their team pride themselves on being able to cater for any dietary requirements, including coeliac, gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan.

The Noble 600 team looks forward to welcoming you to one of their popular Tuesday night quiz nights, to book your private function or conference or join them in experiencing the freshest local produce and top-notch service in a family-friendly setting.
